How to Configure Cisco Extension Mobility in CallManager 6 , 7?
Cisco Extension Mobility helps meet the changing needs of following:
The Cisco CallManager Extension Mobility function basically allows users to temporarily access their Cisco IP phone configuration, such as the line appearances, services, and speed dials, from other Cisco IP phones
User can login on any IP phone and will get his own functions.
In CUCM 6.0, after extension mobility configuration, some system services may need to restart.

CUCM Configuration:
Step 1: (Start Service)
- Cisco Unified Serviceability -> Tools -> Service Activation -> Cisco Extension Mobility ="Activate" -> Save
Step 2: (Service Parameters)
- Cisco Unified CM Administration -> System -> Service Parameters -> Select Server -> Select Service ="Cisco Extension Mobility" -> Select Clusterwide Parameters (whatever required) -> Save
Step 3:
- Cisco Unified CM Administration -> Device -> Device Settings -> Phone Services -> Add new
- Service Name ="url-name"
- Service URL =
http:// your call manger ip address:8080/emapp/EMAppServlet?device=#DEVICENAME#
- Save
Step 4: (Default Device Profile)
- Cisco Unified CM Administration -> Device -> Device Settings -> Default device profile -> Select Phone Type = Cisco 7940 (select any phone currently in the network having minimum features to create default profile) -> Next -> Select "User Hold MOH Audio Source" -> Select Phone Button Template = "Standard 7940 SCCP" -> Save
Step 5: (Device Profile)
- Cisco Unified CM Administration -> Device -> Device Settings -> Device Profile -> Add New -> Select -> Device Profile Type (Create one profile for each Model currently working in the network) -> Next -> Device Protocol -> Next -> device Profile name ="IP communicator" -> Phone Button Template = "Standard CIPC SCCP" -> Save
- New Window (Device Profile Configuration) will appear -> Add a New DN = 1010 -> Save
- Go back to "Device Profile Configuration" by top , right corner drop down -> click GO
- From top , right corner drop down select "Subscribe/unsubscribe services" -> click GO -> A New window will appear.
- Select a Service -> select "url-name" -> Next -> Subscribe -> Save -> Close Window
Step 6: (Create User)
- Cisco Unified CM Administration -> User Management -> End User -> Add New ->
- User = "ki123", password, PIN, last name etc
- Extension Mobility -> Select profile and move into Controlled Profile area -> Save
Step 7: (Call on Phone)
- Cisco Unified CM Administration -> Device -> Phone -> Enable Extension Mobility -> Check the box -> Save
- From top , right corner drop down select "Subscribe/unsubscribe services" -> click GO -> A New window will appear
- Select a Service -> select "url-name" -> Next -> Subscribe -> Save -> Close Window
- CALL ON ALL PHONE WHICH REQUIRE EXTENSION MOBILITY
Testing:
- Press
(service button) on IP Phone -> Select url , Enter user ID and Password -> Mobility extension 1010 will appear.
- If u log-off from Extension Mobility actual extension settings will come back.
