Word 2007 features a lot of useful tools for writing a document. You
can easily insert images, tables, objects etc in addition to text in
your document while using Word 2007. Sometimes you want to insert a
caption in Word 2007 if you have added some images, objects or tables.
Labeling an image or table in the document can be easily done as you
insert a caption in Word 2007 document. The caption helps in
clarifying as well as defining an object, image or table.
It is very easy to insert a caption in Word 2007 for a table or picture.
You just have to follow these simple steps:
1. Select the table, picture or object.
2. Select the References submenu.
3. Click on Insert Caption in the Captions group.
4. You will see the Caption dialog box. Select the thing you want to
label in front of the Label box.
5. Click on New Label.
6. Type in the caption in the New Label dialog box.
7. Click on the OK button.
The numbering of the caption updates automatically. However if you want
to add further information to the numbering, you can click on the
Numbering button in the Caption dialog box and click OK. The automatic
numbering makes it very simple if you want to rearrange the tables or
pictures in the Word document.
